Dear colleagues and customers

Following our statement in March 2011 on the impact of the earthquake in the Tohoku region we now wish to update the information.

At our blanket manufacturing plant in Minori which was affected by the earthquake, the Kinyo task force managed to repair the damage quickly and full production resumed ahead of schedule. We are pleased to report that we have returned to our normal delivery times.

There has been some general concern about the possibility of contamination from Japanese manufactured goods. Kinyo have made every effort to inspect for any traces of this contamination.

We shipped our first two containers after the disaster on May 5 2011 from Tokyo to our European warehouse near Rotterdam. Prior to shipping, these containers had been inspected for the surface concentration of any contamination and we can report that the results of the inspection showed that the maximum surface dose equivalent was within the standard EU value of 0.2µSv/h.

On arrival at the port of Rotterdam they were again inspected, again there was no problem. We will continue to inspect our products and shipments for traces of contamination.

Die Kinyo Firmengruppe zeigt Initiative, um die mit den REACH und SVHC (substances of very high concern/ besorgniserregende Stoffe) Verordnungen verbundenen Vorschriften einzuhalten.

REACH ist eine Verordnung der Europäischen Union zur Registrierung, Einschätzung, Zulassung und Beschränkung von Chemikalien. Sie trat mit dem 1. Juni 2007 in Kraft und ersetzt zahlreiche europäische Richtlinien mit einem einzigen Verfahren.

REACH fordert, mit „nachgeschalteten Anwendern“ über unsere Produkte zu kommunizieren und relevante Information anzubieten.

REACH hat diverse Zielvorgaben

• höchsten Schutz der menschlichen Gesundheit und der Umwelt vor der Verwendung von Chemikalien zu bieten
• Personen, die Chemikalien im Markt plazieren, zu sensibilisieren, verantwortungsbewusst die mit dem Gebrauch von Chemikalien verbundenen Risiken zu verstehen und zu managen.
• den freien Verkehr der Substanzen im europäischen Markt sicherzustellen
• Innovation und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit in der EU Chemieindustrie zu fördern
• den Gebrauch von alternativen Methoden zur Bewertung von Gefahrstoffeigenschaften zu fördern

SVHC

In 2010 hat sich Kinyo engagiert, die in der Gummi verarbeitenden Industrie als Weichmacher verwendeten SVHC herauszunehmen und durch unbedenkliche Stoffe zu ersetzen. Hiermit bestätigen wir, dass mit der 2011 Produktion alle unsere Drucktücher SVHC frei sind.
